However you need to be quick as it doesn't stay on the ground too long and dependant on when the sun comes out it could be gone in a few hours.

Higher up in the mountains it stays for much longer, the French Southern Alps can be seen from La Colle and there one can ski within well developed ski stations that have from 30 to nearly 200 kms of pistes!

The average time to the best ones are about 2 hours drive.
